mellowartist statement: this image is of a dandelion. i brought back the yellow to the dandelion because it is important. it's important because it used to be my sister's favorite color. this one time when we were really little, we were playing hide and go seek in the woods but then she got lost. she was found, out of the woods on the grass with some neighbors rubbing dandelions on her cheeks. i love my sister and i still remember the relief that came back to me when i saw her.

slightly pink artist statement: this image is of a flower in my backyard. i think that it is very pretty and it reminded me of my sister because yellow was her color she liked and pink was mine. it was a thing. i like that the mask makes contrast between the flower and the background. it also makes the background look like the background.

gradual artist statement: this image is of a plant that is flowering. it is my step moms and she got it at the botanical gardens. i like this plant because it is small and cute. the mask makes the image so clear on where the point of focus is. looking around the image, the viewer will find their eyes back to the flowers that are brought back to color. i titled this gradual because the flowers are tiny and gradually swelling with growth.

fraternalartist statement: this photo is of two leaves in a tree in my backyard. it took me a long time to climb this tree and take a good picture. the mask brings out the color of the leaves which emphasizes the freshness and growth of the tree. the black and white makes the image more still and relaxing. i like this picture because of the focus and the color.

inconvienienceartist statement: i took this picture when i was "exploring" around my backyard. i haven't gone back there because i started living here at the beginning of the school year. i took it of this gate that sectioned of the property. i then found this piece of land that wasn't sectioned of by anyone. this was a picture with a memory behind and i wanted to bring back the red from the gate.
